目前主要研究河口海岸细颗粒泥沙、微塑料输运机制,以及生物作用对水--地貌演变过程的影响等。欢迎水利相关专业有兴趣攻读硕、博学位的同学与我联系。每年招收博士研究生1-2名,学术型硕士研究生士1-2名,专业型硕士研究生1-2;获本校保研资格的同学,可选择本科毕业论文-研究生学位论文一体化培养,提前进入实验室从事相关课题的研究。

课题组与美国弗吉尼亚海洋研究所、比利时鲁汶大学、比利时皇家自然科学研究院、荷兰三角洲研究院、法国电力集团、韩国仁荷大学、韩国庆北大学等国际高水平大学或科研院所始终保持紧密的合作关系,科研能力优秀的同学可推荐至上述或其他国际知名高校教授课题组联合培养。


 

For International Scholars

Xiaoteng Shen obtained a Ph.D. in Marine Science from Virginia Institute of Marine Science, the College of William and Mary, USA, in January 2016. He worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow and then as a Research Scientist in the Hydraulics Laboratory of Department of Civil Engineering, KU Leuven, Belgium, from 2016 to 2019. He joined Hohai University, Nanjing, China, as an Associate Professor in September 2019. He is currently a Professor, where he has been since May 2021. His research fields include coastal hydrodynamics, estuarine ecology and estuarine particle dynamics. His doctoral dissertation focused on the flocculation and deflocculation processes of cohesive sediments in estuarine and coastal waters. He is also interested in the transport and fate of microplastics in the coastal areas.

 

Student Research Opportunities

I am always looking for graduate students who are interested in cohesive sediment and their environmental impacts. Students interesting pursuing Ph.D. or M.S. graduate research with my group should email me to inquire about potential research topics.
