报告人简介:Qian is Reader in Computational Fluid Dynamics and currently leads the Centre for Mathematical Modelling and Flow Analysis (CMMFA) and the Engineering Modelling, Simulation and Design (EMSD) research groups at MMU. His early research was in the area of computational aerodynamics and has worked in projects on numerical modelling of turbulence drag reduction, shock wave interaction with boundary layer flow and supersonic and hypersonic flow around blunt cones. His PhD work was mainly concerned with the development and application of the particle based discrete vortex method and its application in aeronautical flow problems. He joined MMU in 2000 working on an industry funded project on the modelling of shock wave/structure interactions and two consecutive EPSRC projects on the development of a novel free surface capturing code (GR/N24162) and the modelling of a new wave energy device (GR/S12333). He was the main developer of the well-known in-house free surface code AMAZON-SC at CMMFA. He was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2006 and then Reader in 2013. He has over 80 publications in refereed journals and conference proceedings, is a reviewer for a number of academic journals and international conferences. He is a member of Technical Programme Committee of the International Society of Offshore and Polar Engineering, a member of the EPSRC Peer Review College and co-leader of the newly formed UK Special Interest Group in Wave Structure Interaction within the UK Fluid Network. His research has been mainly funded by the EPSRC and his recent and current work focuses on the development of a generic integrated numerical wave tank software package for coastal and ocean engineering applications. He was PI on an EPSRC grant (EP/F069162) to implement a novel turbulence approach for modelling breaking waves and PI on EPSRC projects investigating impact loadings and fluid structure interactions (EP/J012793, EP/K037889) and CI on Supergen Marine grant EP/J010197. He is currently PI and CI on EPSRC projects EP/N008839 and EP/M022382 respectively and is a core member and the MMU lead of the EPSRC funded CCP-WSI network.
