       报告地点:严恺馆502会议室

报告人简介:Dr Shiqiang Yan is a Senior Lecturer in Hydrodynamics at the City, University of London and a fellow of Higher Education Academy UK.  He was a Leverhulme Trust Early Career Research Fellow (2009-2010) and Co-Investigator of EPSRC(Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council) project  “New generation tool for estimating wave/current loads on marine structures comprising of slender members”. He is Principle-investigator (PI) on two EPSRC grants (“A novel integrated approach to efficiently model viscous effects on wave-structure interaction in extreme sea” and “A Zonal CFD Approach for Fully Nonlinear Simulations of Two Vessels in Launch and Recovery Operations”) and Co-I of two other EPSRC projects on wave-structure interaction. He worked on developing the QALE-FEM funded by EPSRC and Leverhulme Trust before he was appointed as a lecturer at City. He has published more than 70 papers and is now the vice chair of the Hydrodynamic Committee of the International Society of Offshore and Polar Engineers (ISOPE). He is currently working mainly on the development of hybrid modelling system combining different numerical models, e.g. QALE-FEM with MLPG_R, SPH or OpenFOAM and its applications to wide range of offshore and ocean engineering problems including wind wave development, integrated wind/wave/current modelling and their interactions with offshore and coastal structures, such as WECs and floating wind turbine system.
