On March 23, 2022, Professor Zheng Jinhai was invited to give a lecture, entitled with “Harbor Resonance: description, simulation and mitigation”, in the technical training course of port and waterway construction in developing countries.
The 20-day training course on port and waterway construction technology in developing countries was sponsored by the Tianjin Research Institute for Water Transport Engineering, M.O.T. This technical training course is a concrete action to adhere to openness and linkage, and deepen international cooperation in water transportation projects, and a pragmatic measure to implement the spirit of the Global Sustainable Transport Conference of United Nations.
The theme of the training course was port and waterway construction technology. The International Cooperation Department, Water Transport Bureau, Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Transport and domestic, well-known experts in the field of waterway transportation were invited to give lectures on the port and waterway interconnection of “the Belt and Road”, and the development process and construction achievements of China's waterway. They also shared technical experience and research results of ports and channels.
Various exchanges such as academic lectures, online visits, theme seminars, etc. were arranged to preach Chinese standards, transfer Chinese technologies, and tell Chinese stories to the students. There activities helped enhance the breadth and depth of international cooperation, promote inner connectivity of China's waterway transportation policies, standards and technology, and improve the level of port and waterway construction in developing countries. Twenty-six experts and technicians from government departments, scientific research institutes and port enterprises from 7 countries including Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia participated in the training.
