A tidal wetland scientific field observation and research station in Jiangsu has been officially recognised by the Ministry of Education.
This recognition confirms that Hohai University has reached a high standard of achievement in the field of coastal wetland research with outstanding fundamental facilities, research personnel and scientific outcomes.
Coastal wetlands are an important component of China's marine ecosystem, which plays a significant role in promoting economic and social development in coastal areas, protecting biodiversity and coping with climate change. The College of Harbor, Coastal and Offshore Engineering has grasped the great opportunity to supplement the ministerial-level station approved by the Ministry of Education, relying on the unique geographical advantages of the radial sand ridges in Jiangsu province and closely adhering to the Double-Class Discipline development target of Hohai University.
