On July 8, 2020, at the invitation of the Chinese Embassy in Egypt and the Academy of Science, Technology and Maritime Transport of the Arab League (League of Arab States), Professor Feng Xuejun attended the Arab League international video seminar on Responding to COVID-19 Epidemic-Integration of Port and City and delivered a keynote speech. Zhao Liying, Consul General of China in Alexandria, Ismail Abdul jaafar, President of the Academy of Science, Technology and Maritime Transport of the Arab League, Kamal Ali, Assistant Secretary-General of Economic Affairs of the Arab League, Tina Zuheiri, Director of Transportation and Tourism Bureau of the Arab League, adil Adban, Governor of Port Said Province of Egypt, Jack Lin, Vice Governor of Alexandria Province, and many leaders and scholars from Valencia Port Authority of Spain, Spanish Port Logistics Consulting Company (PLA) attended the seminar.

The theme of Professor Feng Xuejun's speech is: New Opportunities of Suez Canal After Covid-19-The West African Area, pointing out that the COVID-19 epidemic has brought great challenges to Suez Canal, but also brought opportunities to build a trans-shipment hub of Far East-Europe route for the development of West Africa region under the background of large-scale ships, transform and upgrade port and shipping infrastructure, and accelerate the research and development and application of new technologies such as artificial intelligence, 5G and unmanned ships in the shipping industry. In the summary of the meeting, President Ismail highly praised Hohai University for its important role in the development of international shipping, and thanked Professor Feng for his attention to the development of the Arab League, especially the Suez Canal, and for his wonderful speech. The Chinese Consulate General in Alexandria also spoke highly of Professor Feng's speech, holding that the content of the speech played an important guiding role in Africa's development, well publicized and promoted the national the One Belt and One Road Initiative  from the height of scientific research, and specially sent a thank-you letter to Hohai University.

This seminar is the fourth in a series of seminars on maritime logistics in response to the COVID-19 epidemic, which was broadcast live on YouTube platform and attended by more than 400 officials, experts and scholars from China, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Palestine and Yemen.
