1.Orientation of the institute
The Institute of Ocean Renewable Energy Engineering will take ocean energy resource analysis, environmental power assessment and performance of ocean energy development devices as research objects according to the scientific and technological requirements in the development and utilization of national strategic ocean energy (including offshore wind energy).focus on solving major scientific and technological problems in ocean energy development efficiency, safety, standards and assessment technologies, and carry out technological innovations in the fields of high-efficiency ocean energy utilization, environmental power impact mechanism, high-performance ocean support system and multi-energy complementary comprehensive utilization platform.According to the management method of the modern research institute, the research group is taken as a unit to form a mechanism of high efficiency, competition, openness and innovation, to strengthen scientific and technological innovation, technical services and personnel training, to develop into a domestic leading and international advanced marine renewable energy research institution integrating scientific and technological innovation, design and evaluation services, to become one of the technical cores of China's ocean energy development and utilization system, and to provide strong technical support for the sustainable development of China's ocean resources development.
2.The staff of this research institute (status of full-time and part-time staff)
There are 7 full-time teachers and 1 postdoctoral. Among them, there are 6 senior professional titles, 2 professors and 4 associate professors.Docking the first-level disciplines of water conservancy engineering, harbour, coastal and offshore engineering, naval architecture and ocean engineering, and ocean renewable energy engineering (the self-established direction under the master degree of first-level disciplines-Hohai University).
3.Recent Development Goals and Main Tasks
The development objectives of the Institute during its term of office are:in view of unfavorable factors such as high economic cost, harsh operating environment and unstable efficiency in the development and utilization of ocean energy (including offshore wind energy), to carry out environmental dynamics research on ocean energy development,to explore technologies for efficient utilization of ocean energy and multi-energy complementation, to clarify the damage mechanism of supporting systems under complex ocean dynamic loads, to discuss the safety and stability of ocean energy development systems under different ocean conditions, and to propose corresponding optimization schemes and protective measures to provide decision support for the development of China's abundant ocean energy resources.
