Prof. Zhang Jisheng was born in Quanzhou of Fujian Province in October 1979. He obtained his bachelor degree at Chongqing Jiaotong University in 2002 with a major in harbour waterway and coastal engineering, his master degree in hydraulics and river dynamics at Chongqing Jiaotong University in 2005 and his PhD degree in offshore engineering at the University of Aberdeen, UK in 2009. He served as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Dundee in Britain from July 2009 to November 2011. He joined in the College of Harbour, Coastal and Offshore Engineering of Hohai University in December 2011.
He is the vice dean of College of Harbour, Coastal and Offshore Engineering, the member of International Electrical Engineering Commission's Technical Committee for Standardization of Ocean Energy Conversion Equipment AHG7, the member of National Ocean Energy Conversion Equipment Standardization Technical Committee, the member of the 10th Council of Jiangsu Mechanical Society, the member of the Executive Committee of the 5th Annual Meeting of Young Scientists in Jiangsu Province, the member of editorial board of ‘Journal of Water Resource and Ocean Science’ and ‘Journal of Energy and Power Engineering’. He once served as the deputy director of International Office of Hohai University, the assistant dean of College of Harbour, Coastal and Offshore Engineering.
He is mainly engaged in teaching and scientific research in the fields of harbour, waterway, coastal and offshore engineering. His major research direction is the offshore renewable energy engineering. He led over more than 10 research projects, such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) General Research Project , NSFC Youth Research Project, The international cooperation and exchange project between the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Royal Society of United Kingdom, and the scientific and technological activities preferred subsidize for overseas students. He mainly participated in the Sino-British doctoral education and scientific research partnership project, the national ocean renewable energy special fund project, the special scientific research fund project for doctoral disciplines in institutions of higher learning, and the key research projects of the Jiangsu Provincial Natural Science Foundation. As the principle author, he translated and compiled three standards and specifications for water transport engineering of the Ministry of Transport in English version, and participated in the examination and approval of international standards for marine energy and the preparation of one national standard for marine energy. So far he has published more than 60 papers, of which 32 are indexed by SCI. The paper entitled ‘An integrated model for the wave-induced seabed response around marine structures: model verifications and applications’ was selected as the highly cited research paper of Coastal Engineering in 2016. The scientific research achievement entitled ‘Theory and method of full dynamic coupling numerical simulation of wave-marine structure-seabed Interaction’ won the second class prize of 2013 Ocean Engineering Technology Award (Rank 2). He has obtained 3 software copyrights and 2 invention patents. The undergraduate course Coastal Dynamics was selected as the national excellent resource sharing course (Rank 4) and the overseas student course Coastal Engineering was selected as the provincial excellent course in 2016 (Rank 1).
He was selected as the high-level talents training objects of the Six Talent Peaks in Jiangsu province, the Jiangsu Innovative and Entrepreneurial Plan team and the member of science and the outstanding young teachers of ’Young Talent’ Project in Jiangsu Province's universities.
