Hosted by Swansea University and Institute of Mathematics and its Applications, UK, the 3rd IMA International Conference on Flood Risk was held in Swansea City on March 30th, 2015.

       The main topics of the conference include climate change, computational methods and prediction, extreme events and so on. Scholars from China, USA, UK etc. had warm discussions oriented on uncertainty which plays a very important role in extreme events. Prof. Yongping Chen and Dr. Yi Pan participated in the conference and gave presentations titled “Super-ensemble forecasting of typhoon tracks over the Northwestern Pacific” and “Wind field generation for hindcasting of typhoon waves”, respectively.
