Backed the project “Evolution and Countermeasures of Water and Sediment Dynamics in the Pearl River Estuary” funded by the Ministry of Water Resources' special funds for scientific research, a scientific expedition to the river network and outlets of the Pearl River Delta took place in Oct 8th, 2014. As the largest scale basin scientific expedition held by our college, it covered more than 400 km and took 3 days. Prof. Jinhai Zheng, associate prof. Wei Zhang, Dr. Xiaomei Ji and Master student Jing Du joined in the expedition. Senior Engineer Wenjie Xin from Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute participated as an expert consultant. The scientific expedition is also supported by the Xijiang River Basin Administration of Guangdong Province, and Hydrology Bureau of Guangdong Province.
